RE: Closed Service Centers on the 401

There are presently 3 service centers on the 401(E&W) between Cornwall and the Qc border that are closed for renovations. One has been closed since May and its does not look like any work is going on.

RE: Neys Prov Park: German POWs and their WW-11 Guards

We had a POW camp in our area. It was located in the city of Sherbrooke,Qc. From what some old timers told me they would let some of the German officers out to go to the local movie shows.

RE: New Driver's Licence in Ontario June 16th 08

The Ontario law will not affect out of province drivers AS LONG AS they are legal in their province or state of residence.

JacK_Diane
Have you stayed at Alpine? It was one of the campgrounds on my short list to call because it looked OK from the web site

Camping in Peterbourough area

For the past 3 years we have come up to Toronto and picked up our granddaughter to go camping. Each year we pick a different area of Ontario. This year we want to go to the Peterborough area or within 50 km to camp She is only 5 this year so we are looking for a nice campground that besides lake access has a pool and good playground. Looking at the OPCA site there are alot to choice from, but nothing beats first hand experience. I would appeciate any suggestions our members from Ontario can provide for a nice campgrouund.
Thanks
Barry

RE: how many canadian rv'ers have rv endorsment licence

Not required in Quebec. Class 5 is good for a TV or motorhome upto 4500 kg. Over that is a different class licence.

RE: OK, Rubber engineers, What other chems can I use ?

I quess working as QC supervisor for 35 years in a plant tha produces rubber products will not qualify for this answer. But if its seal or the roof most of the time they are EPDM or TPO as stated before do not use anything with petroleum distillates in it. If its a Neoprene or Nitrile material petroleum distillates will not harm them. Whether you buy the product from an RV dealer or local autoparts store they will all work. I use Armorall on the seals of my 5th and TV and car with no adverse affects. For tires on my 5ver I prefer water and soap, then cover them when its sitting for more then a week. On the TV I use tire cleaner but its never sitting around for more then a day.

RE: Canadians Importing from US-Combining Personal Exemptions?

When we return I put all the receipts together with a paper clip and tell them the total value. Put the receipt for the Honda (try to use only the Creditcard slip so its the same size) in the center the middle of the stack. You have a very good chance that they will not ask what it is. If they do you can say its for the family and depending on the customs officer they may let it slide.
This way you did not lie about what the total value was.

RE: Struggling slide out

There are a couple of things to look for besides a battery problem.
1: Did you extend your rear stablizer legs after opening your slide. If so you could have the frame slightly twisted. I also retract the rear stablizer legs before putting in my slide.
2: Are the channels for the slide in the frame dirty. Once a year I clean and then put dry lube on mine, it made a big difference in the torque required to move the slide.
3: Check the voltage on your battery, it could be a bad cell.

RE: Warranty in Canada

There is a complete process you have to go through to get it aproved after you import the trailer. Go to Canada Customs site to see what paperwork is involved. for the warranty part I suggest you Email Keystone directly as it will vary between companies. Also remember your local dealer will not likely put you ahead of the guy who puchased a unit from him when you need work done.
